Drama: The term comes from the Greek word meaning "action" (Classical Greek: paua, drama), which is derived from "to do" (Classical Greek: Spaw, drao).

We at DPS train the actors in working with the power of the spoken word, students are trained on how to use vocal energy to portray the action in text. They are trained in applying range, volume, pitch, tone, resonance to text. To convey a visual world through the spoken word, and to impact both, their co-actors and audiences, with what they say. Text plays a strong part in this unit, starting with use of poems, stories, scenes, monologues and other dramatic texts; students are taught how to search the text for it's meaning sense and intention.
